Freba Farhat, MD
Freba Farhat M.D. is currently a fourth-year post-graduate dermatology resident at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Farhat completed her undergraduate studies at Williams College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History. Upon completion of her undergraduate studies, she was accepted at Drexel University College of Medicine. While at Drexel University, Dr. Farhat’s love for providing care to all individuals prompted the creation of a women’s health curriculum for women housed in the local Philadelphia shelters. The focus of the program included primary care topics such as nutrition, bone health as well as depression/anxiety among other medical conditions. Dr. Farhat’s interest in primary care led her to pursue a residency in internal medicine. While at George Washington University Hospital’s internal medicine program she had the opportunity to rotate in their dermatology division and fell in love with the specialty. After completing her residency and chief year, she pursued a second residency in dermatology and was matched into Virginia Commonwealth University’s program. Dr. Farhat’s current interests are in complex medical-dermatology disorders such as inpatient dermatologic emergencies, bullous diseases, and multi-organ disease entities such as sarcoidosis. She hopes to pursue a career in academia.
